Terms of Use

Nodusy is operated by NEOT (내옷), a sole proprietorship of EunJin Yoo (“we,” “us,” or “our”). We operate nodusy.com and any related pages that link to these terms (the “Service”).

These terms are a binding agreement between you and us. By opening the Service, creating an account, or writing on a page, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. A Korean translation is available; if the two differ, the English text controls, except where a Korean consumer-protection law that cannot be waived says otherwise.

We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date at the top is the date that counts. If a change is significant, we will try to tell you in the product or by email. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you agree to the new terms.

You must be at least 14 years old. People under 14 may not register for or use Nodusy. We ask for a date of birth when you join, only to confirm your age; we do not keep the date afterward. We do not operate a legal-guardian consent process, so under-14 registration is blocked rather than allowed with consent.

In short: Nodusy is a public writing room where a story is built one sentence at a time, one writer at a time.

Nodusy is a place to write stories and lyrics in public, one sentence at a time. Anyone can read a page. Writing happens in turns: only one person writes at a time, through a queue we call the Booth, and each turn has a time limit (currently ten minutes — the clock on the page and the Guidelines are what count).

When you start a work, you set a title, an opening sentence, a genre, and who may write: Together (anyone), Just me (only you), or Invited people (only people you invite). Every work has a host. The host can complete a work, which seals it (read-only — no further turns). Sealed writing stays readable.

There is no fee to use Nodusy today, and we do not take payments. We may introduce paid features in the future; if we do, we will give notice in advance and update these terms, and any paid feature will be optional. We are not obligated to keep any particular feature free.

The Service is not meant for use where it would be illegal, or where offering it would require us to register in that place. If you open it from elsewhere, you are responsible for local law. The Service is not built for regulated-industry rules (for example HIPAA). Do not put health records, payment-card data, or other regulated or special-category information on a page.

In short: we own the product; you own the sentences you write.

We own or license the Service itself — the software, design, the name Nodusy, and our marks — protected by copyright, trademark, and related laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for personal, non-commercial reading and writing, as these terms allow. You may not copy, scrape, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit the Service or our marks without our written permission.

You keep the copyright in the sentences you write (see Section 3). Feedback and suggestions you send us about the product — ideas for features, not story sentences — you assign to us so we may use them without owing you anything.

AI-generated covers. Each work’s cover image is generated automatically by our systems using third-party AI (see the Privacy Policy for what data is sent). The cover is part of the Service, not a work you authored; we own or control the covers we generate and provide them “as is,” and they may not match your expectations, since they are produced automatically for identification and display. Your use of AI features must not violate the terms of the AI providers we use. We do not guarantee the accuracy, availability, or suitability of any AI-generated cover.

In short: you keep your copyright. You grant a perpetual, irrevocable license so the collaborative page can stay readable — including after you leave, attributed to “Anonymous.” We are only a venue; we do not referee off-platform disputes.

Sentences, titles, chapters, drafts, reports, and appeals you post are your contributions. Contributions on a page are public. Invite-only and Just-me pages are still readable by anyone; only writing is restricted.

License to us. By posting a contribution, you grant Nodusy a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, and irrevocable license to host, reproduce, display, store, and keep it as part of a collective work — including after you leave (attributed to “Anonymous”), and including on forks that others start from that page. This is anonymization of the account, not deletion of the writing. This license is limited to operating the Service and maintaining the collaborative works within it. It survives the closing of your account and the end of these terms, for as long as the contribution remains on the Service.

License to other writers. You also grant other people on Nodusy a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, and irrevocable license to read your sentences here and to continue, display, and keep them as part of that collective work in the ways the Service allows — including replacing a sentence during a turn when it has more than ten votes and at least seventy percent of them are downvotes (see Section 6). You do not grant, and we do not grant, permission to copy those sentences out of Nodusy, publish them elsewhere, or train AI models on them. We do not use your writing to train AI models.

Hiding, not deleting. You may hide a sentence you wrote: the slot stays so the page still reads, and the words are not shown. Hiding is not deletion. A report is a different kind of hide — the words come off and writing pauses until someone reviews. Writers cannot hard-delete a sentence, because that would break the later sentences and forks built on it.

Moral rights. To the extent permitted by law, you waive and agree not to assert moral rights (including the right of attribution and the right of integrity) against Nodusy or other contributors in connection with how a collective work appears on the Service. That includes remaining as “Anonymous” after you leave, others continuing or forking the page, a sentence being replaced after a downvote threshold as these terms describe, and our hiding or removing writing under these terms.

Venue only. Nodusy is a venue. We do not referee, and assume no liability for, disputes between users about off-platform publishing, commercialization, or who may use a sentence outside the Service.

Your promises when you post. You confirm that: you have the right to post the writing and it does not infringe anyone’s copyright, trademark, or other rights; it is not illegal, hateful, harassing, or sexual content involving anyone under 18; it does not reveal another person’s private information; and you will not paste someone else’s work as your own.

We may hide, edit, move, or remove contributions, pause a page, or close an account if we reasonably believe the writing breaks these terms or the law. We are not obligated to monitor every page, but we may.

By using the Service you represent that: the information you give us is true and you will keep it current; you are at least 14; you have the legal capacity to agree to these terms; you will not access the Service through bots or other automated means except ordinary search-engine indexing; and you will not use the Service for anything illegal. If any of this is untrue, we may close the account and refuse future use.

In short: keep your password. You are responsible for your account.

You sign in with an email address and password. (Google sign-in exists in our code but is currently turned off and not offered in the interface.) Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what is written from your account. We may reclaim a username that is abusive or impersonates someone.

You may close your account from your account page. What happens to your writing on closure is described in Section 10.

• Starting a work. You set a title (up to 48 characters), an opening sentence (up to 280 characters), a genre, and an access level (Together, Just me, or Invited people).
• The Booth and the turn timer. To write the next sentence (up to 280 characters), you enter the Booth queue. When your turn arrives, a countdown begins (currently ten minutes). You must submit (“Add to the page”) before it ends. If the timer runs out, your turn expires automatically and passes to the next person in line.
• Drafts. While it is your turn, what you type is held for you and restored if you refresh during that same turn; only you can see it. It is discarded when you submit, leave the Booth, let the turn expire, or your turn passes. There is no long-term draft storage, and nothing is saved while you are only waiting in the queue.
• Chapters. On your turn you may separate the work into chapters.
• Work status. A work is Live (the Booth is running or people are queued), In progress (open, but the Booth is empty), Completed (sealed by the host; read-only), or Paused (writing halted by an active report).
• Votes and replacement. Anyone signed in may upvote or downvote a visible sentence, on any work, at any time. If a sentence has more than ten total votes and at least seventy percent are downvotes, it becomes eligible to be replaced. The person whose turn it is then sees a “Replace this sentence?” prompt that must be answered — Replace it (they rewrite it; this uses their turn, and its votes reset), or Leave it (they write normally and the option passes to the next writer). Once a sentence is replaced, its votes reset and it no longer triggers the prompt.
• Forks. A page may be forked — a new work that branches from an existing page and continues it in a different direction. A fork carries over the sentences up to the branch point, so sentences you wrote may appear in forks that other people start, under the license in Section 3. A fork is a separate work governed by these same terms, with its own host and Booth.
• Multiple works. You may take part in several works at once.

In short: write in good faith. Do not wreck the page or take the writing off it.

You agree not to:

• copy, scrape, download, or republish anyone else’s writing from the Service — by hand, bot, or tool;
• systematically collect usernames, emails, or sentences to build a database;
• circumvent features that limit copying, or reverse engineer the Service except as the law allows;
• use bots, scripts, or scrapers, except ordinary search-engine indexing;
• interfere with the Booth, the timer, the queue, or other people’s turns, including by script or automation;
• impersonate another writer, or sell or transfer your account;
• harass, threaten, or dox anyone, or post hate aimed at people for who they are;
• post sexual content involving anyone under 18, including fiction, “aging up,” and roleplay;
• upload viruses or anything meant to break the Service;
• file false reports to pause a page as a joke or a weapon, or use invitations to harass;
• use the Service to compete with us, or to advertise or sell goods and services.

The Guidelines restate these in plain house language. These terms are the contract.

If a sentence is reported, we hide it immediately and pause writing on that page until someone reviews it. The writer may appeal once; an appeal does not pause the page. On review we may restore the sentence in place, move it to a new page (a new branch) if the story has already moved on, keep it hidden, or close the appeal.

We may also, without a report: hide, edit, move, or remove writing; pause a page; refuse a turn; reclaim a username; or close an account. We may report illegal conduct to the authorities — in particular, sexual content involving a minor, which we remove without exception.

In short: tap the sentence and report it, or write to us. We hide first, then look.

If you believe a sentence copies your work, tap it and report it as copied work, or write to contact@nodusy.com. We hide reported sentences immediately and then review them (notice-and-takedown). A copy of a formal notice may be shared with the person who posted the sentence. You may be liable if you knowingly make false statements in a notice; if you are unsure, consult a lawyer first.

A formal notice should include: your name and contact details; a description of the work you own; where it appears on Nodusy (a link is best); a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized; and a statement that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or their agent (made under penalty of perjury if you are sending a US-style notice). If the writer sends a counter-notice, we may restore the sentence where the law allows. We are not a registered US DMCA agent; this is the channel we currently provide.

Repeat infringers. We will, in appropriate circumstances, close the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe others’ copyright or repeatedly breach these terms.

You may close your account at any time from your account page. When you do:

• Your personal information is erased — email, username, and sign-in. (Your date of birth was already not retained after the age check.) Your Booth seat expires and any in-turn draft is discarded.
• Together pages: your sentences remain, attributed to “Anonymous,” so the collective work still reads. If you were the host, the host role passes to the remaining writer with the most sentences on that page (ties go to whoever wrote their first sentence on that page earliest). If no one else has written, the page remains readable with no host.
• Invited-people pages: the same succession rule applies — the host role passes to the remaining writer with the most sentences (ties: earliest first sentence). Only someone who has written a sentence can become host; accepting or merely being invited is not enough. The page is not deleted and stays invite-only, and your sentences remain as “Anonymous.” An invitee who accepted but has not written keeps their invitation and may keep writing; a pending invitation that was never accepted is removed together with the departing host’s account, so that person can no longer join.
• Just-me pages: the entire page — its root, its sentences, and any forks from it — is deleted. Just-me writing is not kept as “Anonymous”; it is removed with the page. A sealed (completed) Just-me page is also deleted if its host closes their account.

The license in Section 3 survives account closure for any contribution that remains on the Service. We may keep reports and other safety records where the law or safety requires.

Our Privacy Policy is part of these terms. Korean users can also read the 개인정보 처리방침. The Service relies on processors that may store data in the United States and other countries; by using the Service you understand that transfer. See the Privacy Policy for details.

These terms apply while you use the Service. We may deny access, block an address, or close an account at any time if you break these terms or the law — and, where we must act quickly (for example, on a report), without prior notice. If we close your account, you may not open a new one to evade that. We may also take legal steps. The license in Section 3 is perpetual and irrevocable and survives termination for contributions that remain on the Service as “Anonymous,” whether you close the account or we do.

We may change, pause, or discontinue the Service at any time. We do not promise to keep every page forever, to back up your writing, or to ship updates. We are not liable for lost writing, lost turns, downtime, or the Service becoming unavailable.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS. YOU USE IT AT YOUR SOLE RISK. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT WRITING WILL NOT BE LOST. WE DO NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY OF ANYONE ELSE’S SENTENCES. WE ARE A VENUE ONLY AND ARE NOT A PARTY TO DISPUTES BETWEEN WRITERS, INCLUDING DISPUTES ABOUT OFF-PLATFORM PUBLISHING OR COMMERCIALIZATION. SOME PLACES DO NOT ALLOW THESE DISCLAIMERS; THERE THEY APPLY ONLY AS FAR AS THE LAW ALLOWS.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE AND THE PEOPLE WHO RUN NODUSY ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST WRITING, LOST TURNS, LOST PROFITS, OR LOST DATA, EVEN IF WE WERE ADVISED THEY WERE POSSIBLE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (WHICH TODAY IS ZERO, BECAUSE THE SERVICE IS FREE). SOME PLACES DO NOT ALLOW THESE LIMITS; THERE THIS SECTION APPLIES ONLY AS FAR AS THE LAW ALLOWS, AND YOU MAY HAVE ADDITIONAL RIGHTS.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for our own willful misconduct or gross negligence, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (including mandatory consumer-protection law and, for Korean users, the Act on the Regulation of Terms and Conditions).

You agree to defend and hold us harmless — including our officers, agents, and the people who help run the Service — from claims, damages, and reasonable legal fees arising from: your writing; your use of the Service; your breach of these terms; your infringement of someone else’s rights; or harm you cause another writer. We may take over the defense of any such claim at your expense, and you will cooperate. We will try to notify you of a claim when we learn of it.

We keep the data needed to run turns, accounts, and pages. You are responsible for work you care about; we do not promise backups. We are not liable for any loss or corruption of data.

Using the site, sending us email, and completing forms are electronic communications. You agree that notices we post on the Service or send to your email satisfy any requirement that a communication be in writing, and you agree to electronic records of these terms. Where the law allows, you waive any rule that would require a handwritten signature.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of the Republic of Korea have exclusive jurisdiction, except where a consumer-protection law that cannot be waived (for example in the EU) provides otherwise.

Before either of us files a claim (except the exceptions below), we will try to resolve it informally for at least thirty (30) days after written notice to the other, sent to contact@nodusy.com or to the email on your account. To the extent the law allows, disputes are only between you and us individually — no class, collective, or representative actions — except where a law that cannot be waived forbids that limit. Informal talks are not required first for: claims about intellectual property; claims about theft, piracy, or unauthorized scraping; or requests for an injunction.

If a complaint is not resolved, California residents may contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs, 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, California 95834, or (800) 952-5210 / (916) 445-1254.

These terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Guidelines are the whole agreement between you and us. If we do not enforce a part, we may still enforce it later. If a court strikes one part, the rest stands. We may assign these terms. We are not partners, and no employment or agency relationship is created. These terms are not construed against us merely because we drafted them. We are not responsible for failures caused by things outside our reasonable control.
